Jamie Lee Curtis has shared the story of how she would have met Princess Diana if it wasn't for an ill-timed pee break.

In a new episode of Apple Fitness+'s Time To Walk, the 64-year-old Halloween franchise star revealed that she was in the bathroom when the beloved princess came to visit the London set of her movie Fierce Creatures in 1995.

The late royal came to the set with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, but the pair never got the chance to meet because Curtis had left the location for a break.

"We had been told that day that Princess Diana and her children [William and Harry] were going to come to visit," Curtis recalled, as cited by The New York Post.

"We shot all morning, and when we took a tea break, for me, it was a pee break. I jumped in a golf cart and drove the two miles back to the dressing room," she continued. "I’m in my dressing room peeing when there was a pounding on the door, 'Princess Diana is here.'"

Sadly, by the time the Freaky Friday actress left the toilet for the meet and greet, the Princess of Wales and her sons were already leaving the flick's set.

Curtis said that she didn't feel that it was right to run or shout after the royals so she wrote a letter to Diana, and had it delivered to her residence at Kensington Palace.

"It said, 'I'm so sorry we didn't get to meet. I was very much looking forward to it as I admire you greatly. Unfortunately, nature called, and they don't give me many breaks, so I chose nature over you, not knowing that you were going to arrive right at that moment. I'm so sorry and just think you're great. My best wishes, Jamie,'" she recalled, per the outlet.

The next day, the Everything, Everywhere, All at Once star was shocked to find out that she had received a letter response from Diana herself.

"The next day, I got a letter delivered from Kensington Palace from Her Royal Highness Princess Diana, saying, 'I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet you, also. I admire you, and I totally understand when nature calls,'" Curtis recalled. "'Of course, you should choose that. I hope that we will have an opportunity in our lives to meet. Best wishes always.'"

The award-winning star described the letter as "beautiful" and stated that she still has it in her possession.

Unfortunately, the two never did get the chance to meet as the princess was killed in a car crash two years after her visit to the film's set.
