Jamie Lee Curtis has taken to Instagram to share her heartwarming reaction to receiving her first-ever Oscar nomination.
Curtis, 64, is arguably most famous for her starring roles in the Halloween movie series and more recently has appeared in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
The movie has gained critical acclaim as it looks set to take the Academy Awards by storm after it was nominated in 11 categories.
Curtis has been given a nod in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role as Deirdre Beaubeirdre where she appears opposite Michelle Yeoh.
With this being the Halloween star's first-ever Oscar nomination, she revealed her excitement in a series of heartwarming Instagram posts.
"Being a part of this beautiful movie, which just received so many acknowledgments for our talented, motley crew of artists, is the highlight of my professional life," Curtis began.
"As this is a movie about a family of immigrants and their struggles through life, immediately I'm thinking of my parents, children of immigrants from Hungary and Denmark, whose families came here and sacrificed for their children to achieve their dreams.
"I can only imagine what it would feel like for them and their parents to hear that their daughter/granddaughter was nominated this morning for an Oscar," she concluded.
In a follow-up post, Curtis posted an image of herself looking at her nomination while visibly shocked, as she revealed a friend that had previously won an Oscar joined her to watch the nominations taking place.
"THIS IS WHAT SURPRISE LOOKS LIKE! One of my oldest besties [Debbie Oppenheimer] texted me at 5:15 that she was sitting in front of my house and did I want company watching the announcements," Curtis wrote.
"She came in and sat with me as I had sat with her the day she was heading toward the Oscar ceremony, the year she won. We held hands. I didn't even realize she took pictures."
Oppenheimer's win came from the documentary she created based on her mother's journey on the Kindertransport out of Nazi Germany, entitled Into The Arms Of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport.
Curtis also shared her joy that her co-star Yeoh became the first Asian actress to be nominated in the Best Actress category, writing: "WHAT A MOMENT FOR YEOH!"
The 64-year-old is well known for celebrating her friend's achievements, as she demonstrated with her priceless loud cheer when her co-star won a Golden Globe earlier this month.
We can't wait to see Curtis at the Oscars - she certainly won't disappoint!
