Jennifer Aniston has taken to Instagram to urge her 34.4 million followers to wear face masks in public during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
This comes after a number of doctors also took to social media to promote the benefits of masks and dispel some of the myths around them.
This Costco worker stood up to a customer who refused to wear a mask:In a selfie where she can be seen looking straight into the camera, the actor wrote: "I understand masks are inconvenient and uncomfortable."
"But don't you feel that it's worse that businesses are shutting down... jobs are being lost... health care workers are hitting absolute exhaustion. And so many lives have been taken by this virus because we aren't doing enough."
⠀
She continued: "I really do believe in the basic goodness of people so I know we can all do this. BUT still, there are many people in our country refusing to take the necessary steps to flatten the curve, and keep each other safe.
"People seem worried about their 'rights being taken away' by being asked to wear a mask. This simple and effective recommendation is being politicized at the expense of peoples' lives. And it really shouldn't be a debate. If you care about human life, please... just #wearadamnmask and encourage those around you to do the same."
Since Aniston made the plea on Instagram yesterday, it has been liked over 5.2 million times and counting, and the comments section was flooded with messages from people who agreed with her plea.
Reese Witherspoon simply wrote: "Exactly."

Rita Wilson added: "It's so easy to do."

Meanwhile, Drew Barrymore wrote: "WORDED PERFECTLY and could you be anymore [sic] beautiful? Wow."
