Jennifer Lawrence, one of Hollywood's most sought-after actresses, has broken her silence after rumors circulated that she had an affair with Liam Hemsworth.
Hemsworth famously dated Miley Cyrus after they met in 2009 on the set of The Last Song, and they were on and off for a decade.
The famous couple got married in 2018, but their divorce was finalized a short while after on January 28, 2020.
Throughout their relationship, Hemsworth spent a lot of his time on the set of the Hunger Games movies, which were shot between 2012 and 2015.
In the movies, Hemsworth's character Gale Hawthorne is the initial love interest of Jennifer Lawrence's character, Katniss Everdeen.
Rumors started circulating that the romance between the pair wasn't just on screen and that it bled into their personal lives too.
As reported by the Daily Mail, these accusations of an affair were furthered after Lawrence admitted that the pair had kissed off camera - but claimed that it was while Hemsworth and Cyrus were not together.
Lawrence sat down with Andy Cohen on Monday's episode of Watch What Happens Live where she broke her silence about the affair accusations.
"Not true," she said. "Total rumor. We all know we only kissed one time and it was years after they broke up so I just assumed that was a coincidence."
The conversation was sparked after Cohen questioned Lawrence about the rumors, due to Cyrus releasing her song Flowers, which many believe hinted at the alleged affair.
People made the link due to Cyrus wearing a gold dress from Saint Laurent's autumn/winter 1991 collection during the music video, which they connected to the gold Prabal Gurung gown that Lawrence wore during the Hunger Games premiere in 2012.
Lawrence continued about the kiss: "Liam and I grew up together. Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?"
It seems as if the rumors about the affair had a profound impact on the actress, as she revealed that she has been close to addressing them online before.
"If five people at a party think you slept with somebody's boyfriend it's really upsetting," Lawrence said. "And then you multiply it by, I'm not good at math, eight billion."
Lawrence is appearing in her latest movie, No Hard Feelings, which was released on June 21.
