Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about what it was like working with Leonardo DiCaprio as well as other big-name stars like Timothee Chalamet.
The superstar trio starred in the Oscar-nominated Netflix film Don’t Look Up which tells the story of two astronomers who go on a media tour to warn humankind - who seem otherwise distracted - about a planet-killing comet hurtling towards the Earth.
Joining Lawrence, DiCaprio, and Chalamet on the project were Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Chris Evans, and Cate Blanchett making for a pretty impressive lineup.
Check out the trailer for Don’t Look Up:Speaking during an interview on Stephen Colbert's eponymous talk show back in December 2021, the 32-year-old Hunger Games actress opened up about what it was like working with her co-stars, saying that she was in "absolute misery" during the filming process.
When referring to one specific day that "drove her crazy", she said: "Timothée was just excited to be like out of the house [after lockdown]. I think it was, like, his first scene. And Leo had picked the song that was playing in the car and was just, like, 'You know, this song was about, you know, blah, blah, blah.'"
The host then praised Lawrence for her "uncanny" impression of DiCaprio to which she replied: "I just remember being in absolute misery that day. It was hell."
Despite this though, the actress admitted that it was "cool" to work with DiCaprio and Chalamet as well as the others in the movie.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Silver Linings Playbook alum also spoke about spending time away from her acting career before making a comeback on the satirical comedy.
"I think the things I learned are so deep and profound... that I don’t want to tell you," she told Colbert. "I mean, it was really nice."
She continued: "I’ve always found comfort in a schedule and doing something and being somewhere, and just kind of the comfort of being on set where the world is one thing and very organized," before adding that the level of fame she was thrust into after appearing as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games trilogy made her appreciate the "quiet."
"I think coming out of the Hunger Games and all of that, it was nice," she said. "I took a break and nobody really cared and it was quiet.
"I got to feel like I could become a part of the world again without fanfare. Literal fanfare," she added.
Don't Look Up is available to watch on Netflix in selected countries.
