Jeopardy champ Amy Schneider has bid goodbye to her 9-5.

The quiz show master's groundbreaking winning streak came to an end last month after an incredible 40 consecutive victories.

But she definitely didn't go home empty-handed. Alongside earning the titles of highest scoring female contestant ever and second-highest scoring player of all time, Shneider also took home a whopping $1.38 million in winnings.

Meanwhile, the 42-year-old - who now has over 127,000 followers on Twitter - has also earned herself something of a celebrity status.

Considering how popular she's become, it comes as little surprise that Shneider has decided to ditch her day job as a software engineer manager in favor of a new career.

"Some of you may have heard, but I quit my day job yesterday!" she announced in a tweet on Tuesday. "It's a bit nerve-wracking to pivot from software engineer to... public figure, I guess?"

Shneider continued: "Regardless of the outcome I'm so excited to spend the next couple years at least tackling this new challenge!"

In an interview with the New York Post last week Shneider confirmed that she had taken a leave of absence from her job - which she has now made permanent.

She also revealed that she has signed with agency to the stars Creative Arts Agency, whose clients include the likes of Tom Hanks and Zendaya.

As for exactly what her new career as a 'public figure' will look like, Schneider is still yet to give details. But she did hint at the possibility of a book.

"There has definitely been a lot of interest in my writing a book, and it’s something I’d love to do," she told The Post, adding: "My main focus right now is figuring out what exactly that book might look like."

"So, nothing concrete yet, but it’s something I hope to make happen," Schneider hinted.

The quiz whizz is also set to return to our screens in Jeopardy's Tournament of Champions this fall, where she'll show down against former second-place holder Matt Amodio.

But in the meantime, it's not all work and no play. Schneider has also revealed that she'll be taking a well-earned break with her partner Genevieve Davis.

"Travel is definitely a part of the plan," she said. "I mentioned on the show that we wanted to go to Ireland, and while we’re still finalizing it, it’s looking like we’ll be there for St. Patrick’s Day."
