Jessica Chastain has opened up on her friendship with Oscar Isaac after their collaboration in Scenes From A Marriage.

The TV series, which tells a similar story to the original about the trials and tribulations of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple, was a hit amongst audiences and critics alike and even went on to earn Isaac an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor for his role, while Chastain went on to be nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Globes.

Beyond just the on-screen love affair, we were also treated to some iconic moments - and you know which one we're talking about, right?

That red carpet one.

Have a look at the video below to refresh your memory:

Let's just say we were all gagged by the interaction.

From the soft touches to the longing stares, it almost seemed as though the pair were truly in love... But that's showbiz, right?

Anyway, it seems as though, despite their obvious chemistry, the pair struggled to maintain a close friendship after the TV series due to how tough it was to film.

Speaking in an interview with Vanity Fair, Chastain described how the series had an impact on her friendship with her co-star.

"I mean, Scenes From A Marriage was very tough," she told the outlet. “And I love Oscar [Isaac], but the reality is, our friendship has never quite been the same."

The actress then went on to say that while they were going to be "okay", she needed a "breather."

"We’re going to be okay, but after that, I was like, I need a little bit of a breather," she continued. "There was so much 'I love you, I hate you' in that series. But there’s so much joy in what I get to do. There’s a lot of catharsis."

She then went on to express how much she loves her job.

"I feel like I have the best job in the world because I get to have these experiences," she said. "They’re so out of this world and feel like they’re mine. But then I live a very quiet life. I don’t have these tortured things in my life. I play them and I experience them, and then I come home and I live quietly and peacefully."

Elsewhere during the interview, the 46-year-old also talked about how it felt to be part of an ever-changing industry, especially as a woman.

"I watched the industry for a long time before I had the opportunity of working in it, and I gathered a lot of information," she told the publisher. "It has changed quite a bit, the whole #MeToo culture, which I am appreciative of, the idea that there’s now more resources for people who feel like they’re in an unhealthy, abusive situation."

She continued: "There are abuses that were really out in the open; now they’re just gone. I don’t see anything anywhere near to what I used to see in the past with just how people were treated and the sexist jokes and all of that. That really has dissipated a lot. So those have changed in our industry."

Chastain then added that she had learned a lot on the "producing side and the development side" which helped her with her own venture.

"...We’ve done a lot at my company. We started working in my living room, and we just recently got an office. It’s been a very steep learning curve."
