Jessie J has delighted fans after confirming she is pregnant with her first baby just over a year after opening up about experiencing a devastating miscarriage.

The singer, 34, announced she is expecting her first child on Friday evening (January 6), admitting she was "happy and terrified" about the news.

Sharing a compilation of clips and photos of her with her growing bump, her pregnancy test, and scan photos, she told her fans: "I am so happy and terrified to finally share this…

"Please be gentle with me. Honestly, ya girl just wants to ugly cry in public in a catsuit eating a chocolate covered pickle with no questions asked."

Jessie - real name Jessica Cornish - beamed with joy in the footage, as she cradled her bump and showed fans their first glimpse at her pregnancy so far.

The 'Price Tag' star had previously opened up about her plans to start a family on her own, which had tragically ended in a miscarriage in November 2021.

She had shared a photo of herself in tears as she held a pregnancy test, after being told there was no longer a heartbeat at her third ultrasound scan.

Jessie wrote at the time: "Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying 'seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant'. By yesterday afternoon I was dreading the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down…

"After going for my 3rd scan and being told there was no longer a heartbeat. This morning. I feel like I have no control of my emotions. I may regret posting this. I may not. I actually don’t know."

She added that she'd "decided to have a baby on [her] own" as she always wanted to be a mother and "life is short".

"To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again," she said, adding: "I'm still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok.

"I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t. It’s the loneliest feeling in the world."

Jessie had previously been told by doctors at the age of 26 that she would struggle to have children, which she revealed to fans in 2018.

She told Steven Bartlett on the Diary of a CEO podcast last year of her struggles after finding out she'd miscarried the baby she longed for.

"The day that I found out that the baby had died, I didn't have anyone to just fall apart on and that's what I needed, that's what I wanted," she said.
