Following the news of Kirstie Alley's death at 71, prominent industry figures have been paying tribute to the actress - including her Look Who's Talking co-star, John Travolta.
The two starred in the 1989 rom-com which tells the story of a "single, career-minded woman who is left on her own to give birth to the child of a married man, but finds a new romantic chance in a cab driver."
The iconic couple went on to remain close friends over the years. In fact, Travolta even referred to Alley as his "soul mate" in a 2019 interview with Us Weekly.
So when the news of Alley's passing was announced, many fans were waiting for Travolta's tribute to his on-screen lover.
Taking to Instagram, the 68-year-old posted a two-part carousel dedicated to the late actress.
Check out the post below:Alongside the photos was a heartfelt caption that emphasized Travolta's love for Alley: "Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had."
"I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again," he added.
Under the post, fans left comments empathizing with the actor on his loss.
"You were the first person I thought of when I heard the news… I don’t even follow you but I knew I had to see how you were, my all-time favorite movie franchise is look who’s talking... I’m hurt," wrote one user.
"I was just talking about you two today. You two were my comfort when I was young. I would play “Look who’s talking” over and over to shield out the noise. You both saved my heart many times..." wrote another.
A third added: "There are no words. The world has lost a sweet funny talented soul and [you] have lost a beautiful friend. So sorry John."
Fellow actors Sharon Stone and Catherine Bell also left comments under the tribute, with Stone describing Alley as "funny and warm."
And the heartfelt messages didn't stop there.
Jamie Lee Curtis also took to Instagram to express her sadness about the 71-year-old's death.
"I've just heard the sad news that Kirstie Alley has died," she wrote. "She was a great comic foil in @tvscreamqueens and a beautiful mama bear in her very real life."
"She helped me buy onesies for my family that year for Christmas. We agreed to disagree about some things but had a mutual respect and connection. Sad news," she concluded.
Actor Tim Allen honored the Cheers actress on Twitter, writing: "A sweet soul pass on in Kristie Alley. Sad, sad news. Prayers for all her family."
Sister Sister star Jackée Harry described Alley as "one of a kind."
"Whether you agreed with her or not, Kirstie Alley was an undeniable talent who brought joy to many – through the screen and with her warm, hilarious spirit. RIP, luv. You were one of a kind," she wrote.
The news comes after Alley's children, True and Lillie Parker, announced the actress had died after a short battle with cancer.
In a statement released on Alley's official Twitter account, they wrote that they were "sad to inform [fans] that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.
"She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead."
They continued: "As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother," later adding that Alley had a "zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did."
