Johnny Depp has made an appearance at Rihanna's Savage X Fenty show despite backlash against such a move.
Dressed in a slightly sluggish and outdated ensemble, the former Pirates of The Caribbean star took center stage for a runway walk, clearly channeling his inner Jack Sparrow - apparently 'pirate chic' is back in fashion.
Check out the video below:Although the walk only lasted about 30 seconds, it seems as though it was long enough to ruffle a few feathers online.
"This is why I say you can’t be a fanatic to any celebrity because I really do believe they live in a bubble and make decisions that will never make sense to us regular folks. With everything surrounding Johnny Depp no one in Rihanna’s team should want that man anywhere near them," wrote one user.
"Stripping Draya and Ari of their Savage X Fenty deals cuz of their comments about domestic violence, to then put Johnny Depp on the runway of your show," commented another, alluding to Rihanna's alleged hypocrisy.
"No way I’m going to have to boycott Rihanna and Savage X Fenty … no f***ing way," a third complained in response to Depp's appearance at the show.
"Let that sink in...Rihanna is absolute trash to cast wife beater Johnny Depp. What a woman..now we can see her true cruel colors #boycottRihanna #boycottFenty," a different critic penned.
Some even criticized his actual performance for being so "stiff."
"Stiff a** walk, he’s moving like a walker from the walking dead, looks like one too," said one user.
However, others jumped in to defend the 59-year-old actor.
"So y’all boycotting the Fenty Show because Rihanna casted Johnny Depp. Wow okay. I guess, we’re all entitled to our opinion. A man chooses to leave a toxic relationship and it’s a problem. Okay," tweeted one user.
When the news of his appearance was first confirmed, fans criticized the 34-year-old beauty mogul for including such a controversial figure in her work.
The backlash comes after the highly-publicized defamation trial between Depp and his former wife, Amber Heard, came to an end on June 1. And although the jury sided with Depp in the case, it seems that many are still struggling to see Depp in a positive light following the accusations and evidence highlighted in the case.
Despite months passing since then, the internet still hasn't come to terms with the verdict, and any news regarding either party instantly becomes a hot talking point online.
Depp's latest fashion stint was no different.
The Savage X Fenty show premiered on Amazon Prime on November 9 and featured a range of iconic stars including Irina Shayk, Cara Delevingne, Simon Liu, Precious Lee, Bella Poarch and the singer herself.
Fans were also treated to some star-studded performances by Anitta and Burna Boy during the 4th volume of the glitzy event.
Prior to the release of the show, Rihanna told Vogue that she was proud of the production: "It looks so freaking good. It’s beautiful. It is one of those things that you say you want to do and the logistics are impossible but we somehow pulled it off."
Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 is available to watch on Amazon Prime.
