Johnny Depp's comeback appears to be going from strength to strength following his trial with Amber Heard as he has reportedly signed a $20 million deal with Dior.

The actor, 60, has been unveiled in his latest commercial for the fashion house's perfume line, starring in their new commercial called The Call of the Blazing Sun for the fragrance Sauvage.

In the clip, Depp narrates 25 seconds of footage of an eagle and a sandy beach, while strumming on his guitar and showcasing the many silver rings on his fingers, with a moody blue backdrop.

He is heard saying: "An eagle cried as it circles its prey. The blazing sun high in the ozone blue sky, the trail of cold wind stirs around the dry wood and stone. This is the call of Sauvage, eau de toilette."

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star's latest campaign is reportedly worth a huge $20 million according to reports from Variety.

Depp has been the face of Sauvage since 2015 and the high-end fashion brand notably stood by the actor during his much-publicized defamation trial with his ex-wife, Heard.

After losing a case in the UK, Depp went up against Heard, 37, in court in Virginia between April and June 2022, accusing her of defaming him by writing an op-ed about her experience of domestic violence.

While Depp was not named in the article, his team claimed that he was identifiable as the subject, and ultimately ended up winning the case after the jury decided in his favor.

Throughout the six-week trial, which was live-streamed around the world every day, the jury heard testimony from Depp and Heard as well as friends and family members from each side.

A host of expert witnesses were also called up to testify as well as people who had spent time with the couple throughout their marriage.

The attention around the accusations had cost Depp several jobs, including that of playing Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts films, however, Dior was one of the few that stood by him throughout.

It was reported in May that Depp would continue as the face of Sauvage, after signing a three-year contract worth "upwards of $20 million", which may be the largest men's fragrance deal in history, Variety claims.

The publication noted that Depp's deal was almost double that of Robert Pattinson who garnered $12 million as the face of Dior Homme, while Brad Pitt netted $7 million for promoting Chanel No. 5.

A source told the outlet: "Most A-listers with fragrance deals pull in around $2 million-$4 million per year like Chris Pine, whose deal with Armani is valued at $4 million a year over three years."

Despite the trial dividing fans, it was reported that sales of Sauvage rose, and it ended up being among Dior's top-selling fragrances online last year.
