Justin Bieber has updated fans on his health after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome which forced him to cancel his world tour.

The 29-year-old singer postponed the Justice World Tour in September last year following his diagnosis and issued a statement to his fans via Instagram.

He said: "Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partly paralyzed. As the result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour.

"After resting and consulting with my doctors, family, and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour. I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me. This past weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil."

The singer declared that he was prioritizing his health and would attempt to complete the world tour when he had made it back to full fitness, but much to the displeasure of his fans, the tour was later canceled completely.

"Justin Bieber has officially CANCELLED the remaining dates of his 'Justice World Tour'. Check in with your point of purchase for refunds for your show dates," the announcement said on Twitter.

Fans shared their annoyance due to the announcement coming very close to when the tour was due to resume, with some arguing their money was "held hostage" over the last five months, though most empathized with the star and wished him well as he continued to fight the disorder.

It would seem that things have been going well for Bieber, as he has given his fans a subtle update on the current state of his health.

Taking to Instagram stories, the singer shared a cryptic video of himself looking around suspiciously with the caption "wait for it..."

It's then he flashes a smile to the camera, showing fans that he is doing well despite his condition causing facial paralysis.

Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is a neurological disorder caused by the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus which causes chickenpox. Common symptoms include a rash inside and around the ear and weakness or paralysis to one side of the face, per CNN.

The singer had previously shown the impact of the disorder as he shared a video where he explained how it was affecting him and fans noticed that he had little control over his left eyelid.

Bieber revealed that he struggles to eat when the disorder is at its worst, therefore meaning that performing in sold-out arenas simply isn't possible.

We wish him all the best as he continues his recovery.
