Kanye West has said that he is running for president in 2024, and that far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos will be helping to run his campaign.
This announcement follows West's reinstation on Twitter, following Elon Musk's $44 billion takeover of the company.
The rapper was previously banned from the site after allegedly posting tweets many deemed to be antisemitic, including one that stated that he was going to go "death con 3" on Jewish people.
West - who has legally changed his name to Ye - made an attempt to get into the White House in the 2020 presidential elections, but after voting for himself, he conceded and immediately eyed up 2024, as reported by Reuters.
And it appears as if Ye is true to his word, as videos circulating on Twitter show the musician announcing his intention to run for office.
As reported by the New York Post, the video was posted to "PatriotTakes" on Twitter but has since been deleted.
During the video, Ye holds up items of clothing branded "YE24" which prompts the cameraman to ask "So are you running?". The Grammy award winner simply responds: "Yes."
He continues: "It’s simple ’cause ain’t nobody can tell me, you know, ‘You should say this, you shouldn’t say that,’ you know? It’s just... we’re moving towards the future."
Elsewhere in the video, West points out Milo Yiannopoulos who he states is "working on the campaign". Yiannopoulos responds with "So is that an announcement?" - which is met with laughter from the men.
Yiannopoulos, 38, is a British far-right commentator and former Breitbart News editor. In 2017 he allegedly made comments stating that sex between older men and 13-year-old boys is "life-affirming" as reported by Newsweek.
The commentator has most recently worked as an unpaid intern for Georgia Republican, Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Both men have a history of making controversial remarks online. After Ye was reinstated on Twitter, he immediately sparked outrage with his first tweets.
He first tweeted "Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked" which was followed a few hours later with a tweet that read: "Shalom : )".
This could potentially be a reference to the reason why he was banned from the site originally. This comes after an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored on October 21 where the rapper apologized for his previous remarks.
"I will say I’m sorry for the people I hurt with the 'death con', with the confusion," he said. "I feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I am sorry for the families of the people who had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through. And that I used my platform where you say, I hurt people, and I was hurt."
