Kathy Griffin referred to Elon Musk as a "f***** up fool" after he recently reinstated her Twitter account.
On Friday (November 18), the 51-year-old Tesla CEO announced that he would be reactivating some controversial Twitter accounts that had previously been suspended on the platform.
Addressing the issue of "free speech" in a series of tweets, he said the following: "New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach. Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted and demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter.
"You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet," he also added.
Hence why social media users were greeted by the return of a whole host of celebrities (and in some cases, controversial figures), which included actress and stand-up comic Kathy Griffin.
Griffin, who was originally suspended for impersonating Musk in satirical posts, responded to the billionaire's invite on Instagram after he tweeted the news that "Kathie [sic] Griffin, Jorden Peterson and Babylon Bee have been reinstated."
"Dear Eilon," Griffin said, purposefully misspelling his name too, "You f***** up, fool. I’m going downstairs to my basement of heads. You’re up. Xxoo, The Beheader."
As for notorious clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson and conservative satirical website The Babylon Bee, Musk decided they deserved their platforms back and the two have been tweeting about their returns ever since.
Peterson announced his return to Twitter by thanking Musk for his generosity: "I'm back, thanks @elonmusk" he wrote alongside a photo of Jack Nicholson’s famous "here's Johnny" scene from The Shining.
He was banned from the platform for deadnaming Umbrella Academy star, Elliot Page.
The Babylon Bee was also suspended for a similar incident where they tweeted crude remarks about U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health, Rachel Levine.
"We’re back. Let that sink in," they told their fans.
The news comes after there has been intense speculation over who would be making a comeback to the social media platform. Alongside Kathy Griffin, Jordan Peterson and Babylon Bee, former President of the United States Donald Trump has been a hot talking point in the conversation.
While a lot of people expected the 76-year-old to be tweeting again by now, Musk clarified that the decision is still pending.
However, an ongoing Twitter poll on the billionaire's CEO shows the majority of voters want Trump back on the platform:
As of this writing, 52.3% of the 10,862,164 votes believe Trump should be allowed back on the platform.
