Kelly Rowland was forced to address the crowd at the American Music Awards following Chris Brown's win last night.
On Sunday (November 2o), the 41-year-old singer attended one of the biggest award show events of the year, where she presented the award for Favourite Male RnB Singer.
The category saw some of the best RnB artists on the scene, including Brent Faiyaz, Giveon, Lucky Daye, and The Weeknd go head-to-head for the honor. But, in the end, it was Chris Brown who came out on top.
Upon announcing the winner, Rowland was left shocked and confused when the crowd erupted into a chorus of boos.
Check out the uncomfortable moment below:Speaking over the reaction of the crowd, the former Destiny's Child member told everyone that the 33-year-old singer was not present at the show and that she would be accepting the award on his behalf.
But when the crowd continued to be unsettled, the singer lifted a finger in the air and told the audience: "Excuse me, chill out."

"Chris, thank you so much for making great RnB music," Rowland continued. "I'll take this award [and] bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations, and congratulations to all the nominees in this category."
Social media users seemed to be divided about the controversial move, with some bringing up Brown's alleged history of violence against women.
Singer-turned-beauty-mogul Rihanna has previously spoken out about the abuse she suffered during her relationship with Brown in 2009. During one altercation, Rihanna was left hospitalized with facial injuries with Brown later pleading guilty to one count of felony assault.
Beyond that highly-publicized scandal, there has also been a growing list of women that have accused the singer of mistreatment.
Back in 2013, the 33-year-old was allegedly involved in a club-related incident, during which, he was accused of shoving Deanna Gines to the ground. According to Rolling Stone, she later claimed that she would need surgery following the incident that left her with "torn ligaments in her right knee."

Chris Brown's win comes just one day after the 'With You' singer posted a video to Instagram implying that he'd been set to perform at the AMAs but was cut from the line-up.
"WOULDVE been the ama performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown [sic]," Brown wrote in the comments.
However, PEOPLE reported that it remains "unclear" if Brown was actually scheduled to perform on the show or not.
