Hillary Clinton has revealed that Kim Kardashian defeated her in a game of legal trivia.

The pair went head to head for the 74-year-old former First Lady and daughter Chelsea Clinton’s upcoming documentary series, Gutsy, coming to Apple TV+ next month.

In an episode preview for the show shared by People, Clinton could be seen with a buzzer, facing off with the 41-year-old aspiring lawyer as Chelsea quizzed them on their legal knowledge.

At the end of the contest, the SKIMS founder won the game with a total of 11 points, while the Yale law graduate only scored four points.

In an interview with the publication, the 2016 presidential candidate spoke about her feelings after she lost the game and said: "Oh it was heartbreaking, oh my god."

"I think Kim has an unfair advantage," Clinton said before the game, with her 42-year-old daughter adding, "Kim has studied more recently than you".

Chelsea also commented on her mother’s strategies during the game and said she didn’t hit the buzzer fast enough to answer the question quickly.

"I think she just needs to work on her reaction time," Chelsea said. "Sometimes, I could see my mom knew what the answer was, but she wouldn’t hit the buzzer in time."

However, Clinton admitted that she was intrigued by Kardashian since she got many answers right, saying: "I wanted to put the spotlight on her, not that she needs it, but she worked really hard to get that."

The former lawyer was then asked if she let the business mogul win and quickly replied: "No! I’m not saying that. It’s more the reaction time."

The mother and daughter's show - which interviews women about what it takes to be a "gutsy woman" - also features Kardashian talking about her baby bar exam, which is a test that legal students take after their first year of law school.

The mother of four eventually passed the exam in December 2021 after failing three times and spoke about the moment she saw her results.

"My kids were there every time I opened my results, and so they’d see me cry. And the last time, they saw me cry the best tears of happiness that I did it," she said.

The former US secretary of state praised Kardashian during the interview, saying: "She worked so hard [on the bar] and persevered."

"We didn’t interview her about fashion... her many lines of commerce... her personal life," Clinton continued. "We interviewed about what she was doing to help get people who were unjustly or unfairly incarcerated to have a second chance."

Chelsea agreed with her mother and said that Kardashian was honest about her celebrity platform and the ways that she can make an impact because of it.

"She’s very self-aware that her celebrity can make a difference positively, and where it may make a negative difference," she explained.

"She never wants to make a negative difference, so being judicious and thoughtful about when and where and how she engages was really impressive to us. I want, even beyond this series, to do whatever I can to help her in that work," she added.

Gutsy will premiere on Apple TV+ on September 9.
