Kim Kardashian has revealed that she wore another dress by Marilyn Monroe at the 2022 Met Gala and some social media users were not impressed.

The 41-year-old SKIMS founder announced that she changed into another gown from the Hollywood icon's wardrobe, this time the green Norman Norell dress that Monroe wore to the Golden Globes in 1962.

Captioning a series of photos posted on Twitter and Instagram, Kardashian wrote: “To top off my night after The Met, I had the honor of changing into Marilyn Monroe’s Norman Norell dress that she wore to the Golden Globes in 1962—where she received the Henrietta Award For World Film Favorite."

She continued: "In my quest to find the Jean Louis hand beaded dress that I wore to the gala, I discovered @Juliens_Auctions owned Marilyn’s iconic green sequined gown. Further into my research I found out that the owner of the Golden Globe that she received that evening was non other than my florist @jeffleatham."

She then added: "I saw this all as a sign the way that all of the stars aligned. It will forever be one of the greatest privileges of my life to be able to channel my inner Marilyn in this way, on such a special night. Thank you Julien’s Auction and Jeff for helping to make this memory possible.”

After the reality star made it public knowledge that she wore not one, but two iconic dresses worn by Monroe, people expressed their concerns:

One user noted: "You quite literally admitted to losing 5+ pounds per week for 3 weeks in order to fit in a dress that was not only custom made for Marilyn Monroe but was specifically requested by her not to be worn by anyone else. Not only is this unhealthy but Marilyn was very against diet [culture]"

Another wrote: "[You're] playing dress-up with a deceased woman’s clothes like you can’t afford whole luxury collections."

A third chimed in and said: "And the dresses don't even look the same! What is the self-importance that leads you to insert yourself into a legend's legacy like this."

A fourth said: "Wearing her dresses were another thing but now she’s literally posing with Marilyn's own awards like……. put that down!"

A final commenter remarked: "Is she gonna dig up her body next?"

Kardashian was criticized by users online after walking the red carpet in the exact gown that was custom-made for Monroe, as she serenaded President John F Kennedy on his birthday in 1962.

Later that evening, she revealed to Vogue in an interview that she lost 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into the dress.

That was widely condemned by people as well as 25-year-old actress Lili Reinhart, who called celebrities who starved themselves for the Met Gala "disgusting".
