It seems Kim Kardashian might have missed the dress code memo at Paris Hilton's recent Christmas party after she was savagely roasted online for her outfit choice.
The mom-of-four was featured in a recent Instagram upload from Paris, where she was seen standing next to the heiress, Paris' mom Kathy, Paris' sister Nicky, and her own momager, Kris Jenner.
While the other ladies were wearing dresses and smart suits, 42-year-old Kim opted for high-waisted straight-leg leather pants and a Dr. Dre Up in Smoke concert t-shirt that she had tucked underneath her bra to turn into a cropped top.
Check out the stand-out look below:Many Instagram users couldn't help but comment on how out of place the SKIMS founder looked in comparison to the other famous party-goers, including this person who commented: "Kim's outfit is for a rock concert, not a Christmas party."
"Everyone dressed all nice and Kim looks like a 15YO teen that was forced to her parents party [sic]," another person added.
"Why Kim always dress like that now? All the clothes in her closet and she looks like she got done shopping at Ross or TJMaxx? All she wears now is crop tops, leggings and spandex. I'm gonna be so happy when this trend of wearing workout gear for actual outfits is over with," a third user chimed in.
According to Buzzfeed News, Kim's ex-husband Kanye West - who has legally changed his name to Ye - had been styling her since the start of their relationship; molding her sense of fashion so that she became more appealing to large fashion brands like Balenciaga.
Many Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans will remember how the rapper did a complete overhaul of Kim's wardrobe soon after their relationship went public.
"I really think that my relationship with my husband Kanye changed everything. I mean, back in the day, I thought I had the best style. I look back at outfits and I'm, like, mortified," she said, via US Magazine in 2016.
In a season one episode of The Kardashians, Kim spoke about her divorce from Ye and how she had to start learning how to come up with her own sense of style without him, admitting she "got to a point where I would ask him for advice for everything - down to what I wear. Even now I'm having panic attacks like, what do I wear? In New York - I will say - he styled me all for SNL."
"I definitely see what I like, but I've never really been the visionary. Kanye would come in and be like, 'You should do your hair like this. You should do your makeup like this.' That's his love language, it's clothes." I always just trusted in him. I'm trying to figure out, who am I in the fashion world, or who am I by myself? I was always 'The Kardashians' with my sisters, and then I was 'Kimye.' Like, who is Kim K? That is the jump. How do I get there without Kanye?" she said, via PEOPLE.
