Kim Kardashian might be known for her long, thick, glossy black locks, but her daughter North West has given fans a glimpse at what her mother's natural hair looks like.
Anyone that's dyed their hair - or contemplated it - knows that extreme color changes such as bleaching can come with some damaging side effects.
Going peroxide blonde if you're naturally dark can result in damage or breakage to the hair, especially if the change is done suddenly rather than gradually.
Kim is known for occasionally going white-blonde - including for several red-carpet appearances - and it looks like the harsh dye jobs have taken a bit of a toll on her natural hair.
The reality star turned businesswoman, 42, appeared in a sweet video with her daughter North, nine, over Christmas, set to the song Baby, It's Cold Outside.
In it, Kim can be seen sitting on a bed in neutral Skims pajamas, lip-syncing to the female voice, while North takes on the other half of the duet.
While the video was nothing short of adorable, fans were a little distracted by Kim's hair in the footage.
The mother-of-four was seen with short, blonde hair, which looked a tiny bit frazzled and appeared to be either damp or have a conditioning treatment in it.
She was also seen switching her hair looks up throughout the festive period, alternating between platinum blonde long and short styles, as well as the long, flowing, raven locks she is most known for.
In order to seamlessly transition between the extreme hair changes, it's assumed she made the most of the world-class stylists at her fingertips as well as a series of wigs and extensions to pull off the looks.
She previously revealed the grueling process she underwent to go blonde back in May for the Met Gala, where she famously wore one of Marilyn Monroe's dresses.
Kim told Vogue last year: "I did want a physical change, too, so I thought I would wait and do it for this. So I'm spending a day straight dyeing my hair — 14 hours straight! — to get it done."
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star also previously told Interview magazine in September that she had been planning to go back to her natural color towards the end of the year.
She explained: "I feel like in the fall I’ll go dark. Just because I don’t want to damage my hair. But, I do think blondes have more fun. I just feel different.”
