King Charles III may have just become King of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, but he's also proven that he's following in the footsteps of his late mother by being a bit of a jokester in a recent TikTok.
The video shows a then-Prince Charles greeting throngs of people in Birmingham, England, waving hello to the crowds around him. Then off-camera, a man named David Walker asks Charles: "Do you want to go for a beer?"
The royal did not hear Walker at first, replying with: "What?"
When Walker asks the 73-year-old again, he cheekily replies, "Where?" to which the crowd of people eagerly waiting to meet the Royal erupt into laughter.
Check out the video below:The TikTok depicting the hilarious interaction between Birmingham native, Walker, and the royal was originally posted soon after the interaction at the Commonwealth opening ceremony in July, however it only recently went viral after the Prince ascended to the throne this week, becoming King Charles III.
Since then, the video has amassed close to 10 million views, and has 740,000 likes.
Evidently, King Charles appreciated the interaction, as he got his security detail to tell Walker to wait so the two could meet, the New York Post reported.
The comments underneath the video seem to mirror this perspective, with someone writing they were: "Fortunate enough to have met him twice and in private he's so down to earth and funny."
"He's really funny ! Met him when I was 17 and asked if I could marry one of his sons. he said 'take your pick,'" another user added.
A third user remarked the new King had inherited his wit from the late-Queen Elizabeth's, as she was also known to have a great sense of humor as well: "He has the same sense of humour as his mum."
Well, if King Charles III's quick-witted sense of humor is anything to go by, we will be in for an entertaining reign!
