It is a tragedy for any parent to lose a child, but Larry King has suffered the devastating loss of two of his children within the space of a few weeks.
As reported by the New York Post's Page Six, sources say that the broadcaster's 65-year-old son Andy died suddenly a couple of weeks ago, and his 51-year-old daughter, Chaia, died last Thursday after battling a chronic illness.
Now, the radio and television host has issued a heartbreaking statement about the loss of his children and confirmed their causes of death.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, King wrote: "It is with sadness and a father’s broken heart that I confirm the recent loss of two of my children, Andy King, and Chaia King. Both of them were good and kind souls and they will be greatly missed."
"Losing them feels so out of order. No parent should have to bury a child.
"My family and I thank you for your outpouring of kind sentiments and well wishes. In this moment, we need a little time and privacy to heal. I thank you for respecting that."

A source told Page Six: "Larry and his three remaining children are distraught, and Larry’s still recovering from his own health issues from last year." (King suffered a "slight stroke" back in March 2019.)
Larry, 86, adopted Andy back in 1962 after he married his mother, Alene Akins. Larry and Alene had Chaia in 1969. Their mother passed away back in February of 2017.

In 1997, Larry and Chaia co-wrote a children's book together called Daddy Day, Daughter Day, in which they both gave their perspectives on his divorce from Akins.
Larry was actually married to Andy and Chaia's mother twice - once in 1961 until 1963, and again in 1967, with the couple divorcing once again in 1972
Following Alene's death in 2017, King tweeted the following tribute to his children's mother: "So very saddened over the passing of Alene Akins, who died peacefully with our children Chaia and Andy by her side. She was a grand lady."
