Laurence Fishburne has revealed that he is open to the idea of getting back into the dating scene following his divorce.

After 16 years of marriage, the 60-year-old Matrix star filed for divorce from 53-year-old Suits star Gina Torres in May 2018. Fishburne cited irreconcilable differences between the pair and sought joint custody of their daughter Delilah.

Per PageSix, shortly after their divorce story emerged, Torres released a statement saying: "With heavy hearts, Laurence and I quietly separated and began the dissolution of our marriage in the early fall of last year."

"There are no bad guys here. Only a love story with a different ending than either one of us had expected," the statement continued, adding: "Happily, our family remains intact and we will continue to raise our daughter with love and joy and awe."

The celebrity couple starred as an onscreen couple in the NBC series Hannibal and both appeared in the 2003 film Matrix Reloaded.

Since his divorce, Fishburne revealed to the publication at the Tribeca Festival on June 13 that he would "like to date" someone in the future but there's nobody he's linked to at the moment.

However, for the time being, the actor seems to be spending some quality time with his 15-year-old daughter that was his date at the 2022 Tony Awards earlier this month.

The father and daughter duo also walked the red carpet for the premiere of his documentary The Cave of Adullam, which is a film about four young boys at a martial arts academy in Detroit.

The Black-ish actor explained his documentary to the outlet, saying: "I think the story that we are telling in this movie is one that it [is] going to move people. These four young men are all really extraordinary people."

"The choices that they face as Black males in this country is something that a lot of us are familiar with. I think that initiation is something that’s important in this film it is kind of an example of why it is," Fishburne added.

The Cave of Adullam went on to win Best Documentary Feature and Best Editing in a Documentary Feature at the Tribeca Festival.
