Lindsay Lohan and her husband Bader Shammas are gearing up for parenthood, and they've excitedly revealed the sex of their baby!
Lohan, 37, opened up to TMZ back in March about her pregnancy, and it was obvious that she, alongside her 36-year-old husband cannot wait to be parents
"We are very excited for our new family member to arrive and we are looking forward to this next chapter of our lives," Lohan said.
The Freaky Friday star has kept her fans updated throughout her pregnancy journey, by showing off snaps of her baby bump, which included a carousel of images that she uploaded in April.
A source close to Lohan has now revealed the sex of her baby to Us Weekly and gave fans a highly anticipated update on how she was doing as an expectant mother.
The source also revealed that the pregnancy has been "smooth and amazing" and the couple are already in discussions about baby names, with a list already being drawn up with family throwing in suggestions.
Fans of the star will be overjoyed to find out that Lohan and Shammas are having a baby boy!
It has been confirmed that the baby boy's surname will be Shammas, as: "Lindsay is traditional and it's even more exciting because she now has an even greater bond with her husband because their son will carry his last name."
"She’s ready for motherhood. It’s always been a dream for her. She feels being a mom will make her a better actress, businesswoman, and wife," the source went on.
They continued: "It’s been an emotional journey for her in such a good way. She is so happy about it and conquering moments in her life that she has always wanted. It’s a huge accomplishment and she is so excited about it."
Jamie Lee Curtis, who played Lohan's mom in Freaky Friday, is also thrilled about the incoming baby, as she shared a series of snaps from the baby shower.
Captioning the heartfelt images, Curtis wrote: "My friend and film daughter @lindsaylohan is growing up! So thrilled for her. What a mama she will be."
Lohan and Shammas have kept their relationship relatively private, and in November 2021, they announced their engagement to the world.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Lohan's mother Dina said: "Lindsay is dating a wonderful guy right now. But that's neither here nor there. When she's ready to talk about her personal life, (she will)."
In an interview with Cosmopolitan last year, Lohan described Shammas, who is assistant vice president at Credit Suisse, as an "amazing husband."
When asked about her support system, the 36-year-old said: "I have an amazing husband, who’s a very calm person. Just the best. And my family. And I feel like I have a small group of good friends who are just really good people. That’s the only support that I really need: friends, family, and loved ones."
