Zach Roloff, best known for starring in Little People, Big World, has undergone emergency brain surgery.
On Wednesday (February 8) the reality TV star's father, Matt Roloff, took to Instagram to share with his followers that his son will be getting a shunt revision.
A shunt is a hollow tube surgically placed in the brain - or occasionally in the spine - to help drain cerebrospinal fluid and shift it to another part of the body where it can be reabsorbed, according to John Hopkins Medicine.
While the 32-year-old's family has not revealed further details about the procedure, a shunt revision might relieve pressure on the brain and target symptoms such as mild dementia, lack of bladder control, and difficulty walking.
Check out Zach's dad's post:The medical report explained that doctors discover that these problems enhance after a lumbar puncture, which may mean that putting in a shunt can provide a longer-term benefit.
In his post, the 61-year-old dad shared a heartwarming picture of Zach with his children: Jackson Roloff, five, and Lilah Ray Roloff, three.
He captioned the photo: "Family has been in constant contact and communication. We are all praying for Zach as he undergoes an important shunt revision.
"He's in good hands with Tori advocating tooth and nail for his best interest… all prayers up please for Zach's successful recovery," he added.
Upon seeing his post, many users on the social media platform shared words of encouragement to Zach and his family during this difficult time.
One user wrote: "[Sending] lots of love and prayers for Zach’s quick recovery and for Tori and their family."

Another said: "Heavenly Father we ask that you bring complete healing over Zach. Also, give him [the] strength to a speedy recovery. Bring comfort and peace over his entire family."

A third commented: "Shunt malfunctions etc suck. I’ve been there. Praying for a speedy recovery for Zach."

A fourth shared: "Zach & Tori are the only reason I still watch this show 20 years later!!!! May the Lord bless us where blessings are needed."

Zach's shunt was put in to help drain cerebrospinal fluid and he's had it in place since he was a kid. Even back in 2006, during the first season of the hit reality series, he had to have corrective surgery, per TMZ.
Along with the TV personality, his three children with wife Tori Roloff - who he tied the knot with in July 2015 - have achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism.
The children have also faced their share of health struggles over the years as in November 2021, Jackson underwent surgery to correct the bowing in his legs.
Last month, the father shared an update on his son’s recovery and said that it was "tough" to see the improvement as his Jackson "maybe grows a[n] inch a year," as reported by US Weekly.
We hope that Zach makes a speedy recovery!
