Madonna has jokingly admitted to getting plastic surgery in a candid new post on her social media.
On Monday (February 20), the 64-year-old 'Vogue' hitmaker took to her Twitter page to share a post that appeared to be directed at those who have made unflattering comments about her looks.
"Look how cute I am now that swelling from surgery has gone down," she frankly penned before punctuating the statement with a cheeky "lol." and a laughing emoji.
In the picture, she is seen posing for the camera face-on and with her arms folded while donning braided ginger hair, ripped jeans, and a baseball cap.
Check out the picture below:As of the time of writing, the tweet garnered 6.5 million views and 63.7K likes on the social media platform, with many of her fans praising the 'Hung Up' songstress' for her confidence.
One user applauded: "You look gorgeous, but then you always have."
Another person stated: "You look cute regardless… don’t listen to these h***."
A third chimed in and commented: "Thanks for always living life on your own terms."
A fourth remarked: "YOU choose how you want to look. MY opinion is irrelevant."
While the 'Material Girl' singer is now making light of all the commotion surrounding her looks, she did open up about the backlash she received about her appearance at the 2023 Grammys.
During the award ceremony held on February 5, Madonna appeared on stage to introduce Sam Smith and Kim Petras before their controversial 'Unholy' performance.
After appearing on stage, viewers took to their social media to criticize the '4 Minutes' singer for her alleged plastic surgery so she responded to the trolls in a scathing Instagram post.
"Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim - Many people chose to only talk about close-up photos of me taken with a long lens camera by a press photographer that would distort anyone’s face!!", she penned.
The pop diva went on to say that she is "caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in," and said that the world does not "celebrate women past the age of 45" and will "punish her if she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working and adventurous".
"I have never apologized for any of the creative choices I have made nor the way that I look or dress and I’m not going to start," the award-winning musician continued.
"I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come. In the words of Beyonce 'You-won’t break my soul,'" she declared.
Madonna said that she looks forward to "many more years of subversive behavior -pushing boundaries-Standing up to the patriarchy -and Most of all enjoying my life" and concluded her post with another lyric from Beyoncé: "Bow down b****es!"
Shortly after, the pop icon shared a cryptic post on Twitter that read: "The world is threatened by my power and my stamina. My intelligence and my will to survive. But they will never break me. This is all the test."
