Marilyn Manson was pictured in a rare public outing with his wife amid claims he sexually abused multiple women, the Daily Mail has reported.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, is currently facing lawsuits against him from three women - Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco, model Ashley Morgan Smithine, and an unnamed woman (referred to as a Jane Doe), per Billboard. The long-time friend of Johnny Depp is also suing his ex-girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, for defamation.
He has rarely been seen in public due to the disturbing allegations, opting for a more private lifestyle with his photographer wife, Lindsay Usich, 37.
A fourth lawsuit against the 53-year-old from his former assistant, Ashley Walters, was dismissed in May. A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge ruled that the sexual abuse allegations in the lawsuit, which occurred in 2010 and 2011, could not be brought as the California Penal Code holds that the statute of limitations for those crimes is three years.
Billboard reported that the nature of the judge's dismissal also means that Walters is prohibited from refiling the charges.
Walters, who worked as Manson's assistant, detailed claims of "horrific" abuse against her by the singer, alleging she was sexually, physically, and psychologically abused by him, per Rolling Stone.
Included in Walters' claims against Manson are accusations that he forced Walters to stand for 12 hours taking photographs of him; gave her cocaine to stay awake; and whipped her and other women, saying they could "take it". Walters also alleges that she witnessed the 'Tourniquet' singer give his ex-girlfriend, Wood, a welt after throwing a prop skull at her, Rolling Stone reported.
Manson has denied these allegations via a social media post, stating: "Obviously my art and life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."
Walters has also claimed that she repressed memories of the abuse and did not realize it actually was abuse until meeting with some of Manson's other accusers - Wood and Bianco - in 2020, per the Daily Mail.
Manson got married to burlesque star, Dita Von Teese, in 2005 before his partying and extra-marital affairs caused them to divorce in 2007, per NME. Subsequently, he was in an on-again off-again relationship with Westworld actress, Evan Rachel Wood.
The 53-year-old, who is mostly known for combining heavy metal music with highly theatrical performances for shock value, is alleged to have sexually and emotionally abused Wood between 2006-2010.
The Cut reported that she claimed Manson subjected her to "sick rituals" that include Manson mentally and physically torturing Wood while her hands and feet were bound, until she had "proven" her love for him.
The Cut unearthed an interview Manson gave to the Spin after he and Wood had a brief breakup in 2009. In the interview, he states that he called Wood 158 on Christmas Day in 2008, and cut his face and hands to "show her the pain she put me through." Wood would have been 21 at the time.
Though Manson clearly disagrees with the claims, as he sued Wood for defamation, and alleged that she "engaged in a 'conspiracy' to smear him as 'a rapist and abuser' in an effort to sabotage his 'successful music, TV, and film career'," per the Daily Mail.
NME reported that, since the sexual abuse claims were made public, Manson was dropped by both his agent and his record label, Loma Vista.
Manson's three lawsuits - from Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco, model Ashley Morgan Smithine, and a Jane Doe - are currently pending.
