Megan Markle took part in a skit that saw her swigging milk from a baby's bottle and singing "I'm a kitten" while appearing on The Ellen Show yesterday.
The Duchess of Sussex pranked unsuspecting vendors as part of a hidden camera sequence in which she had to say and do all the weird and whacky things talk show host Ellen DeGeneres instructed her to.
As well as drinking from a baby bottle and singing, the duchess - who was wearing a hidden earpiece - nibbled a tortilla chip like a chipmunk, chanted over crystals, and referred to herself as "momma".
Check it out in the video below:The vendors appeared in the audience afterward and were praised by Markle for being such good sports.
At the start of the skit, the duchess professed to believe in "healing powers" while shopping for chyrstals. She then held a crystal to her head and chanted, before moving on to a stall selling hot sauce.
Here, she ate tortilla chips like a chipmunk and announced "momma loves hot sauce" to the bewildered vendor. She then pulled a baby's bottle out of her purse - pre-prepared by Degeneres - and chugged down milk.
At the last stall, the former Suits star nibbled a cookie before putting on cat ears and singing "I'm a kitten" and meowing. Halfway through the song, DeGeneres arrived and announced to the vendors that they had been pranked.
Unsurprisingly, the Duchess' appearance on the talk show has sparked debate on social media. The hashtag '#MeganMarkle' started to trend on Twitter, where many people are praising her comedic turn.
"Meghan Markle is hilarious," wrote one fan.
"This. Is. The. Meghan. Markle. Era." tweeted another.
"Funny, happy, goofy Meghan is back. She is thriving," added a third.
However, the skit has also drawn criticisms, with one Twitter user writing: "This is no duchess... this is Meghan Markle, play-acting for the cameras, as usual."
"Meghan Markle going on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Please respect her privacy," another said, sarcastically.
The Duchess and her husband Prince Harry are currently living in Montecito, California, with their two children Archie and Lilibet.
During her interview with DeGeneres, she also shared a rare photo of Archie feeding chickens, as well as revealing that she will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner at home this year.
