Meghan Trainor has revealed her newborn baby's name and it seems to have become a hot talking point online.
It comes after the 29-year-old singer announced that she and her husband Daryl Sabara have welcomed their second son together.
Taking to Instagram on July 4, Trainor posted a carousel of adorable snapshots alongside a caption in which she revealed the little one's unique but distinctive name.
"On July 1st (our 7 year anniversary of our first date) we welcomed Barry Bruce Trainor into the world," she wrote in the caption.
"He was a big boy at 8lbs 7oz...and sideways (transverse), but we had an amazing, successful c-section, and I finally got my skin to skin time! Thank you to all of the incredible doctors and nurses who took such great care of us," she added with a red heart.
While the post received thousands of likes and comments welcoming the little one to the world on Instagram, over on Twitter there seemed to be a whole different discussion going on.
Fans took to the social media platform to express their opinions about Trainor's choice of name for their son.
"Just found out Meghan Trainor named her kid Barry Bruce," wrote one user, attaching a hilarious clip of Jennifer Lawrence eating hot wings while repeatedly stating "What do you mean?"
"Meghan Trainor did not just call her new baby Barry Bruce be fkn [for real]," wrote another.
A third said: "Meghan Trainor named her baby Barry?! People called Barry aren’t born, they just spawn at 40 years old surely???"
"Meghan Trainor really named her kid Barry Bruce…. ma’am your son is a certified grandpa," this Twitter user wrote while another questioned: "Of all the names in the entire world of names, and Meghan Trainor chooses.... Barry...??"
And a bunch of British fans couldn't help but draw comparisons of the name to a prominent soap actor who was a recurring villain in the popular show Eastenders.
I mean, you have to admit, Barry Bruce is certainly an interesting choice of name, but that doesn't take away from how cute he is, that's for sure.
The adorable snapshots gave us a glimpse of Barry Bruce during his first moments in this world, spending quality time with his family.
The news comes on the exact day Trainor and Sabara had their first date.
The pair originally started seeing each other in 2016 and just seven years later, are raising a little family together, though the journey was not an easy one.
In an intimate interview with PEOPLE, the 'Lips Are Movin' hitmaker opened up about getting PTSD after the birth of her first child, Riley.
When he was first born, the little one would constantly sleep and after raising concerns about the behavior with medical staff, she was blamed for it.
"They were like, 'Sometimes it happens,' and then some nurses were like, 'Well, it's because you're on antidepressants. And I'm like, 'Yeah, but I've been told by others that it's not that,'" she told the outlet.
"It was just really frustrating not having an answer," she continued. "Not having answers for why my kid didn't wake up for a week was very frustrating."
A few weeks later, she began to see a therapist, who helped her work through that trauma.
"[We] realized how traumatic that all was, and how I was having PTSD at nighttime when I would try to go to sleep," she recalled. "I would be back in the C-section, on the table."
Trainor added that it is now "scary" thinking of her past childbirth experience, especially because at the time, she and her husband were trying for another baby.
"It's scary going into another pregnancy being like, 'Well, I hope that doesn't happen again.' Do I have to change up my whole life? I don't know," she told the outlet. "So it's infuriating."
Regardless of that though, Trainor emphasized that motherhood was extremely fulfilling.
"He finally knows who I am, and he gives me those running hugs. It's like my little koala. He just squeezes me so tight, and I'm like, 'Oh my God, he knows who I am, and he loves me,' " she says. "Because this boy says, 'Dada,' and that's about it. So I'm like, 'Does he even know I exist?' But no, now I finally feel like he loves me, and it's the greatest feeling ever."
We're extremely happy for the family and can't wait to see what Barry Bruce gets up to!
