Mel Brooks, 94, makes first ever political video endorsing Joe Biden
Mel Brooks has made his first-ever political video in the lead-up to the November 2020 presidential election and endorsed the Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
The 94-year-old comedy legend did so via a video that features him socially distanced from his son and grandson as a result of the ongoing pandemic.
"My father, @MelBrooks, is 94. He has never made a political video. Until now," Mel's son, author Max Brooks, tweeted.
The video features Mel sitting down with a mug which appropriately says "Cup of Joe" while his son and grandson stand outside behind him wearing facemasks.

"Hi folks, I'm Mel Brooks, and behind me, you see my son and my grandson," Mel begins the video.
"They can't be with me," Mel continues. "Why? Because of this coronavirus, and Donald Trump's not doing a damn thing about it."
"I'm voting for Joe Biden," Mel explains. "I like Joe. Why do I like Joe? Because Joe likes facts, because Joe likes science. Joe will keep us going."
Mel's son and grandson then hold up signs from Joe Biden's campaign, encouraging people to get behind the Democratic nominee in the 2020 election.
However, Mel Brooks is far from the only famous face to endorse Joe Biden, and the Rock has also got behind the 77-year-old.
This was also a first for the former professional wrestler turned actor who has never publically endorsed a presidential candidate before.
Dwayne Johnson explained why he was voting for Biden in a near-eight-minute long video posted to his official Facebook page.
He began: "Happy Sunday everybody.
"We are approximately five weeks away from election day - arguably the most critical election day our country has seen in decades."

The Jumanji star continued: "Now, I've got friends in all parties, and the one thing that we can always agree on is the conversation and the dialogue, and where that conversation lands is always the most critical part."
Referring to the fact that he has never publically backed a presidential candidate before, Johnson says: "This is something that I've certainly not done in the past, so I'm gonna go big.
"You guys know me; if I go, I go big.
"I had the opportunity to sit down with Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris to talk about a number of important issues that we're facing as a country."
Johnson then stated:
"I thought that it was a great and extremely productive conversation that we had.
And as a registered Independent for years now, with centralist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice for our country, and I am endorsing them to become President and Vice President of our United States."
Johnson then shared footage of a video call that he had with Biden and Kamala Harris, where Biden says that he is a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise and Jumanji movies.
Biden then thanked the Rock for his endorsement saying: "It means a great deal to us, for real."
The former wrestler then took the opportunity to praise Harris' career and labeled her a "certified bad-ass".
