Michael J. Fox and his wife have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary, and the star has made a heartwarming tribute to his partner.
The 62-year-old actor is a fan favorite due to his performances in the Back To The Future series, as well as being a tireless campaigner for Parkinson's research.
In 1991, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease but he chose to keep working and kept his diagnosis private for the next seven years.
According to the National Institutes of Health, the disease is: "A brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination."
Throughout his journey with the disease, his wife, Tracy Pollan, has been by his side every step of the way and the actor has made a sweet statement for their 35th wedding anniversary.
"35 years of laugher, living, listening and loving you [Tracy]," Fox wrote on Instagram. "Thank you for it all. Forever yours, Mike."
Pollan responded to the sweet message by penning "Love you so much", followed by a few red heart emojis.
She also posted on her own Instagram page, writing: "35 years!!! Happy anniversary my love. Here’s to many more glorious adventures together. I could not love you more."
Earlier this year, Fox opened up about his marriage in a heartwarming interview at the regional premiere of the actor's Apple+ documentary titled, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, at the SXSW Conference And Festival in Austin, Texas.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Pollan explained how the couple maintains their healthy relationship. "I think we really listen to each other, we are there for each other when we need each other," she said.
Pollan continued: "And then we also give each other space when that's needed. Just feeling off of what's needed at the moment and trying to be there."
Fox sweetly stated that Polland "gives our family everything that we need," and added: "Any good in our family, anything good that we do, comes from her."
The documentary touched on heartbreaking moments in Fox's life, including how he turned to alcohol to cope with his Parkinson's diagnosis.
During the movie, he said: "I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know what was coming. So what if I could just have four glasses of wine and maybe a shot? I was definitely an alcoholic. But I've gone 30 years without having a drink.
"As low as alcohol had brought me, abstinence would bring me lower. I could no longer escape myself," he continued, before adding that traveling and having a hectic schedule made it more painless as it put the diagnosis out of his mind.
Through it all, Fox credits his wife and children for helping him through the difficult times.
