A mother is set to become the first woman to have two sons play against each other in the Super Bowl as the battle to be the favorite child heats up.

Sibling rivalry can be quite something, as children attempt to shine in the eyes of their parents with the instinctive urge to be better than their brothers and sisters.

Sometimes, parents manage to raise a family of superstars - look no further than the Hollywood favorite Hemsworth brothers or the tennis icons that are the Williams sisters.

Occasionally, the siblings will face off in their chosen field and one mother has the tricky task of celebrating a victory as well as consoling the loser as both her sons are set to play against one another in the Super Bowl.

Jason Kelce plays for the Philidelphia Eagles while his brother Travis Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and both teams have booked their place to play for the trophy.

As per CNN, their mother, Donna, will officially become the first woman to ever have two sons play in the Super Bowl, which is quite the accolade.

The incredibly proud mother took to Twitter, where she simply said: "#HeightsHighandUCBearcatSuperBowl," referring to both her sons attending Cleveland Heights High School and the University of Cincinnati.

For whichever brother comes off victorious, it will be their second career Super Bowl - so at least they both have one to talk about over the dinner table.

Jason made it known that he will show no mercy to his brother after he tweeted: "Officially done being a Chiefs fan this season!!"

Although they will both be competing in the same Super Bowl, the brothers won't be on the field at the same time due to them both playing offense for their respective teams, with Jason being an All-Pro center and Travis being an All-Pro tight end.

With two sons to support in such a huge event, Donna always makes the effort to see both of her sons in action whenever possible - no matter the logistical difficulty involved.

As reported by CNN, last year she hopped from Tampa to Kansas City in order to watch the Eagles and the Chiefs play on the same day.

Speaking to PJ Ziegler on Fox 8, Donna admitted the final result will be a mixed bag of emotions, explaining: "It’s your hopes and dreams coming true, but it’s your worst fears. Somebody is going to go home a loser, and neither one of them lose very well."

There could be quite a frosty family dinner on the horizon... Good luck Donna!

The Super Bowl takes place on February 12.
