Trevor Noah made a slight faux pas at last night's Grammys, after joking about the British Royal Family in the wake of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's well-publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey last week.

According to The Metro, the incident in question occurred at last night's 63rd Grammy Awards, which were held last night at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

In his address to the viewers at home and the socially-distanced attendees, Trevor spoke about the importance of music as a morale booster during the past year.

However, his monologue then took a rather awkward turn (for fans of the monarchy, that is).

Per The Metro, at one point during his address, Noah pointed to the assembled celebs and quipped that there was, "more tension in that tent than at a family reunion at Buckingham Palace."

Noah also appeared to take a pot shot at the British Prime Minister after Harry Styles took to the stage to perform his single 'Watermelon Sugar'.

Noah stated: "It’s crazy to think that someone that talented and handsome is from the same place as Boris Johnson."

Noah then added: "Tonight we’re hoping that this is all about what 2021 can be, full of joy, new beginnings, and coming together. Never forgetting what happened in 2020 but full of hope for what is to come."

Noah's comments have come not long after the Duchess and Duke of Sussex, who made the controversial decision to retire from public life and move to Canada and then to California.

In the interview in question, which aired on CBS on Sunday, March 7, Markle spoke on a variety of subjects, including the pressures of going from being a celebrity actor to becoming a member of the British nobility, her struggles with her mental health, and about the scrutiny she fell under from the British tabloid media.

Markle also seemed to suggest that her family had been the victim of racial prejudice from an unnamed member of the Royals, who allegedly raised "concerns" with Harry over the color of their unborn child's skin.

However, Prince William has denied the allegations and insisted that there is no element of racism within the British Royal family.
