Chris Brown has apologized to the artist who ultimately won the award that he was nominated for after he was called out for his "disgusting" response to losing out on the gong.

At the 65th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 5, Robert Glasper won the award for best R&B album for his 2022 record Black Radio III.

His competition included the deluxe edition of Brown's 10th studio album Breezy and albums by Mary J. Blige, Lucky Daye, and PJ Morton.

Check out the moment Brown lost out to Glasper:

Following the ceremony, the 'Call Me Every Day' singer, 33, took to Instagram to belittle Glasper's win - simply because he hadn't heard of him.

In a post that has since been deleted from his Instagram Stories, he wrote: "Y’all playing. Who da f*** is this?" followed by a series of laughing-crying emojis.

Carrying on his mean-spirited tirade, the 'No Guidance' singer added: "Who the f*** is Robert Glasper? I’ma keep kicking y’all a** respectfully."

In yet more since-deleted Stories, the father of three wrote: "I gotta get my skills up…Ima start playing the harmonica." He then posted a Photoshopped image of himself playing the harmonica, as he quipped: "New Level Unlocked! Harmonica Breezy."

Brown's behavior was immediately called out by internet users, with one writing: "Chris Brown Karma keep coming around.. thats why he’s not getting all of those flowers.. that IG story was so disgusting."

Another chimed in: "Chris Brown being unaware of Robert Glasper tells me everything I need to know about why he’s still making regurgitated 2012 era R&B/Pop."

A third commented: "Robet glasper is a talented guy and he deserves the win!! take that chris brown."

The controversial musician has now apologized for the way he reacted to Glasper's win, taking to his Stories yet again to share a lengthy message in support of the 44-year-old pianist.

"Congratulations my brother," Brown started the message.

"I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys .. you were not the intended target and I know I came off really rude and mean. After doing my research I actually think your amazing ... THE ORGANIZATION ISNT DOING US BLACKS OUR DUE DILIGENCE. YOU AND I SHOULD never be in the same categor," he continued.

Concluding the message, he said: "Two totally different vibes and genres. So from one black man to another.. CONGRATULATIONS.. HOPE YOU ARE ABLE TO FEED YOUR FAMILY FOR LIFE. God bless my G."
