The rapper P Diddy has been accused of fat-shaming after he apparently interrupting Lizzo's twerking during a live dance performance.

The controversial perceived-snubbing of Lizzo took place this weekend, while Diddy held "the world's biggest dance-a-thon", where he recorded Instagram Live dance routines with various celebrities, in a bid to raise money for COVID-19 relief with the charity teamlove.com.

Take a look at the interrupted twerking in the video below:

At one point, Lizzo began twerking as part of her dance, and Diddy stopped her and stated: "Whoa, stop. It's Easter Sunday. Let's play something a little family-friendly."

However, a number of social media commenters accused him of being prejudiced and hypocritical, after Draya twerked later without any repercussions from Diddy.

For example, one irate Twitter-user wrote: "Did P Diddy really stop the music to shame Lizzo for twerking 'cos IG Live is for 'families' but had zero problem w/ Draya doing the same thing? Yes, that's correct. Is body-shaming, double standards, and misogyny still rife in 2020? Yes, that's correct. [sic]"

In response to this, Diddy clarified his actions in an Instagram story, writing: "There's one thing I wanna make clear. My queen, my sister Lizzo. When I stopped the music, it was because it had a lot of curses in there — not because she was twerking. She's one of the best twerkers in the world. Let's keep that clear."

He continued: "You're allowed to twerk on Easter. It was a lot of cursing in the record. I don't need Child Services knocking on my door right now. That's why I stopped the record. Lizzo, we love you. Everyone stop looking for the negative. Look for the positive. We love y'all!"

However, if there's one person out there who knows how to love herself and appreciate the beauty of her own body, it's Lizzo, and she had some strong words for her own critics after TikTok seemingly removed her TikTok videos.
