It's fair to say that Kanye West's endorsement of Donald Trump has provoked a bit of outrage in the African-American community. Indeed, after Ye met with the president at the White House, the two men appeared to get on famously, with Kanye even giving Trump a fond hug. Their chumminess led to some disquiet over the rapper's behaviour and fellow-rapper Snoop Dogg hasn't minced words when it comes to voicing his disapproval.
Indeed, Kanye and Snoop have always had something of a vitriolic relationship in the past, and Snoop hasn't shied away from criticism. Last month, during a Sirius XM interview, Snoop launched into a profanity-laden tirade, where he stated: "If you like that n*gga [Trump] you muthaf*cka racist. F*ck you and f*ck him. Now what? Kanye too. Don't forget about him too. F*ck you too. Throw him in the bag, 'cause he right there with the muthaf*cka."
But now Snoop has taken to Instagram to disparage Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian, by naming her as Kiki from the Drake track In My Feelings." In the clip, Snoop can be heard rapping: "I may be on the late freight but I just found out who Kiki was. Kiki is your b*tch. That’s why you’re so mad. Drake put d*ck in your b*tch. Drake, you a cold n*gga, cuz. I like that song but I ain’t know why I liked it. Now I know why I like it."
A number of commenters were quick to support Snoop's rap. One wrote: "Y’all can say what y’all want, but for all y’all that don’t like what happened in this video, did Snoop as yo asses to follow is Instagram, isn’t this his Instagram? Can’t he put whatever the hell he wants on his Instagram? Can’t you unfollow him if you don’t like what he puts on his Instagram? [sic]" Another person defended Snoop by writing: "Snoop has been a savage from day 1 Kanye used to rap & talk bad about what he has become to this day. Snoop is just pointing out the obvious. It's his page if you don't like the program change the station. #SaluteYouSnoop. [sic]"
Other rappers have also disparaged Kanye for his support of Trump, after West's meeting with the President, with T.I. writing: "I’ve been extremely patient and made it a point to not jump to any premature conclusions about Ye. But now this sh*t is next level, futuristic Sambo, Hopping Bob, Stephen off Django [Unchained] ass s**t. You ass kissing and bootlicking on a whole new level and I refuse to associate myself with something so vile, weak, [and] inconsiderate to the effect this has on the greater good of ALL OUR PEOPLE ... At one time it was a pleasure to work alongside you... now, I’m ashamed to have ever been associated with you. [sic]"
Seems as though the beef between these rappers isn't going away any time soon. Hopefully, they can learn to forgive each other.
