People break up for some pretty weird reasons.
But actors Natasha Lyonne and Fred Armisen have taken the biscuit with their truly bizarre relationship ending spat.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Orange Is The New Black star Lyonne claimed that she and Armisen had parted ways because they couldn't agree on a swimming pool.
It may sound like a small problem, but not being able to agree on having a pool in the backyard apparently sent shock waves through the couple's relationship.
After explaining that she and Armisen had lived together in Los Angeles throughout the pandemic, Lyonne revealed that they have since ended their eight-year romance. The irreconcilable difference that split the pair up? Lyonne wanted a pool in the garden.
"I honestly think we broke up because I wanted a swimming pool," Lyonne, 43, told the outlet.
She went on to say that: "We love each other just about as much as two people can love each other and we’re still talking all the time, but Freddy doesn’t like a swimming pool."

The actor added that, while a swimming pool might sound like an odd reason to split, being able to get in the water is very important to her.
"It might seem like a mundane reason for a break-up, but during that pandemic, you’ve got to get your laps — I’m like Burt Lancaster in The Swimmer," she said.
Since the split, Lyonne revealed that she has purchased her own LA home which - thankfully - has a pool.
"So that’s the real scandal. I guess I finally am an actual bicoastal," she joked.

Lyonne and Armisen were first linked romantically when they attended a pre-Emmy's bash together in 2014. Since then, the pair have been open about their relationship and were last seen out together at the 2020 Golden Globes.
Saturday Night Live star Armisen was previously married twice - first to singer Sally Timms from 1998 to 2004, and then to The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss from 2009 to 2011.
During a 2016 edition of the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Armisen confessed that he had been "a terrible husband" to Moss.
