The global crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic has forced millions of people into social distancing and self-isolation. It is a difficult time, but thanks to technology, it can be made a lot more bearable - and no, I'm not just talking about the hilariously relatable self-isolation tweets (although they are, admittedly, fantastic).
What you really need is Netflix Party. It's the ultimate hack to see you and your friends through self-isolation.
So what's Netflix Party? I hear you ask. Well, the clue is in the name.
These Italian neighbors began to sing during the coronavirus lockdown:Netflix Party is a service that allows you to connect with your family and friends when you're not physically together and watch the same shows and movies at the same time while discussing them. It's a bit like a group chat on WhatsApp, but with a movie to discuss.
And perhaps best of all, the service is completely free of charge.
Netflix Party has actually been around for a while, but due to recent events, it's likely to become a lot more popular in the coming weeks and months.
It is a Chrome extension, and once downloaded, all you have to do to activate Netflix Party is to begin watching Netflix and click the extension to create your party.
Once created, you can then copy and paste a link to family and friends so that you can enjoy your party together.
While it would obviously be preferable to actually enjoy shows with your family and friends, connections, no matter how small, are more important than ever.
The news comes a day after hit Netflix show The Witcher announced that it had suspended filming of its second season in the UK for at least two weeks because of COVID-19.
