A newly released horror movie has turned out to be so gruesome that people are passing out and vomiting in the theater.
The frightful flick, Terrifier 2, is a sequel to the original Terrifier movie, which came out in theaters in 2018. It followed the story of Art the Clown, who stalked and terrorized three young women on Halloween.
Unfortunately for another young woman and her younger brother, the murderous clown is back in the sequel, after being resurrected by a sinister being.
Terrifier 2 had a budget of $250,000, significantly more than the original's $35,000 budget. Since its release last week, the splatter film has already raked in over $1.2 million at the box office, moving Top Gun: Maverick out of the top 10, per Forbes.
After the first film was panned for its poor plot, director Damien Leone spent months working on the script for the sequel, Halloween Daily News reported - earning the new movie positive reviews. In fact, Rotten Tomatoes has given it an audience rating of 91%, with a critic rating close behind at 90%.
One critic from Horror Geek Life wrote: "With excellent lead performances, a ghoulish new character, and plenty of gory fun, it is great to see Art the Clown back on screen in Terrifier 2."
"Thornton's silent performance ranks among this year's contenders as one of the most refreshingly unnerving ones, affronting the otherwise sensible claim that killer clowns and slashers both have depreciated permanently in value," In Review Online said.
But while critics enjoyed the film, some viewers had a hard time stomaching the blood and gore...
One user tweeted: "Just saw Terrifier 2. It was an amazing gory mess. The guy behind me passed out cold n crashed into my chair, another guy left because he didn't feel good, I overheard him say and walking out theatre door I heard a guy puking hard and loud in the bathroom."
"Emergency Medical Technicians were called to my theater as someone passed out [sic]," someone else added.
"My friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance. Highly recommended," a third user chimed in.
Well, it seems the verdict is in. So, viewers beware - this is definitely not for the faint-hearted!
