Even if you aren’t fully on board with the new slate of Disney remakes, they do at least provide an opportunity to appreciate classic movie scenes in a whole new light. Aladdin might have looked a bit strange, but there was something undeniably intriguing about the sight of a blue Will Smith prancing around Agrabah to the slightly stilted tune of "Prince Ali". Small wonder then, that as soon as another iconic sequence gets an update, everyone’s queuing up to get a look.

To the delight of dog lovers everywhere, a brand new trailer for the giant studio’s latest live-action update has finally dropped, featuring a computer-generated re-interpretation of two of cinema’s most iconic pooches. Lady and The Tramp is set to be available for streaming on Disney+ this November, and has already set tongues and tails wagging.

However, it isn’t just the prospect of discovering just how sinister a singing, CGI Siamese can be that’s getting audiences giddy. Featured in the brand new trailer for the feature, which dropped on Monday, fans were treated to a tantalizing insight into how the movie’s legendary “meatball scene” might play out.

In the trailer, a giant plate of pasta is presented before the two titular characters, voiced in this version by Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux, before Tramp can be seen nudging a solitary meatball towards Lady. The clip stops just short of showing the spaghetti strand sharing that makes the scene such a tearjerker, but it’s exciting nonetheless.

In addition to the talents of Thompson and Theroux, the film also boasts the likes of Sam Elliot, Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, Yvette Nicole Brown and Janelle Monáe - the latter of whom will be lending her pipes to rerecord the classic tune “He’s a Tramp” from the original. Even if you believe in leaving classics untouched, it’s hard not to get a little excited by that prospect.
