New Netflix movie is being called a 'perfect classic Christmas rom-com'

It's that time of year when everything gets festive, and those getting into the holiday spirit rush to watch their favorite Christmas classics!

And good news for festive fanatics, because a new Netflix movie has been hailed as a "perfect classic Christmas rom-com".

There is certainly an abundance of movies to choose from when it comes to the Christmas season, with classics like Home Alone and Elf being firm favorites in any household.

Each year, it seems as though there is a competition to become the best new Christmas movie - and this season, an early frontrunner has come out on Netflix.

The Noel Diary is a new romantic comedy based on the novel of the same name by Richard Paul Evans, and fans are absolutely loving it.

The synopsis on Netflix gives insight into what the film holds, explaining: "Cleaning out his childhood home at Christmas, a novelist meets a woman searching for her birth mother. Will an old diary unlock their pasts — and hearts?"

As per Cinema Blend, the movie is currently the number one movie on Netflix, with fans flocking to see what Christmas movies in 2022 have in store.

Actor Justin Hartley, who stars in the film as Jacob Turner, tweeted some images before the movie's release in order to get viewers excited.

The movie also features actress Barrett Doss, 33 - most commonly known for her appearances in Station 19 - and Bonnie Bedilia, 74.

Those who have seen the Christmas movie have taken to Twitter to sing its praises. One fan wrote: "The Noel Diary [is] a perfect, 10/10, 5 stars, no notes, classic Christmas rom-com. it had laughs, it had tears, it had romance, it had infidelity. it had it ALL."

A second fan said: "Christmas film rec nobody asked for. the noel diary on Netflix. SO wonderful and warm and full of heart and romance not at all a cliché Christmas film which is so impressive to me."

A third person tweeted: "Watched the noel diary today and omg I just love it. It's so soulful and perfect and what I needed. This is such a perfect film for Thanksgiving ;) Thank you [Netflix] for this."

The Noel Diary currently has a score of 67% on Rotten Tomatoes.
