TLC's new show MILF Manor has been receiving intense criticism online and we're not really shocked after seeing the first episode.

Now, we've seen our fair share of questionable TV shows over the years, but the latest one that's got everyone talking might just be the absolute worst.

MILF Manor follows "eight confident and strong-minded women [who] leave home for the chance to find love" in paradise, according to a description by TLC.

While the premise might sound like any other typical reality TV show, there's a dramatic twist to this particular tale... the toy boys that they'll be trying to win over are each other's sons.

The first episode of the new series premiered on Sunday and showcased a bunch of hot moms strutting around in an exotic villa while they waited for their potential lovers to make an appearance but much to their dismay - and ours too - all the contestants turned out to be their sons.

In one segment, we were treated to a game wherein all the MILFs (which stands for Mother I'd Like To F***, for those of you that might not be aware of the crude term which found fame from the American Pie movies) had to cop a feel of the boys' chests and abs to try and figure out which one was their son - yeah, it's as vomit-inducing as it sounds.

In another part, one of the moms admitted to having slept with her son's best friend which, judging by his reaction, he was unaware of. And if the trailer is anything to go by, it's only set to get worse as we gear up for a whole string of follow-up episodes filled with awkward flirting and unpleasant get-togethers.

Of course, Twitter was having a field day with the content.

Many expressed their absolute horror at the fact such a show could be aired on TV, especially on a network that prides itself on "learning."

"I thought I had a high tolerance for trashy reality TV but I’m afraid I’ve met my match with Milf Manor," wrote one unimpressed user.

"The very essence of this great nation we call America can be distilled down to the fact that tonight a show called MILF Manor premiered on a channel called The Learning Channel," pointed out another.

A third added: "MILF MANOR IS THE DARKEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN ON TELEVISION OH MY EFFING GOD."

Others couldn't help but bring up the great man himself - Sigmund Freud - who is probably turning in his grave right now.

"Just heard about Milf Manor," wrote this user, alongside a meme of the Austrian psychologist with the caption: "He can't keep getting away with this!"

"RIP Freud u would've loved Milf Manor," this user also tweeted.

Another Twitter user pointed out something extremely interesting, stating: "If the genders were reversed, this would've never happened," to which another user responded: "Pitching a version of MILF Manor where it's 10 dads going on 9 dates each and then talking to each other about how hot the women are before the reveal that they've all dated each other's daughters. Sure it would end in violence, but maybe they'd think twice about creepy age gaps."

I mean, why not give it a shot? If MILF Manor can make it onto global television, anything can.
