Nick Cannon has put on a festival of lights to pay tribute to his late son Zen on what would have been his second birthday.

The 42-year-old Masked Singer host was left devastated in 2021 after his son sadly passed away at just five months old from brain cancer.

Zen had been diagnosed with high-grade glioma - a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer - and also suffered from hydrocephalus, which is a build-up of fluid in the brain, per Mayo Clinic.

Over the weekend, Cannon took to his Instagram to share a series of photos of himself and friends honoring the late baby at a beachside gathering.

Check out Cannon's post below:

"A Difficult Day that turned into a Beautiful Night…," Cannon captioned the picture of him and his guests standing next to huge blocks that spelled out 'Zen' on the beach. "We will forever celebrate Zen's Light! I love you, Son."

The Wild'n'Out host also posted an intimate photo of him and his friends standing around balloons filled with strands of light on his Instagram story.

The mother of the late newborn, Alyssa Scott, also took to her social media to share a black-and-white snap of her looking at Zen on the day he was born.

She captioned the heartfelt picture: "Happy heavenly birthday Zen. When I get present enough when I do what feels honest and true.. Somehow the moment leads me right to you. Me and the girls were able to see you in so many ways today. We love you for eternity. 6/23."

Since their son's death at five months old, Cannon and Scott  - who are also parents to daughter Halo, six months - have opened up about their loss.

Late last year, Cannon revealed the reasons why Zen did not go through with chemotherapy after doctors offered it in an episode of The Checkup with Dr. David Agus on Paramount+.

"When we first went to the hospital, just to decrease his head from rapidly continuing to grow, there were a couple of procedures we were all for. That, to me, made logical sense. There was less pain in him and the procedure was quick. It was all about the quality of life," per PEOPLE.

The father then questioned if the grueling treatment would extend his son's life or ease his pain, to which the doctors told him it wouldn't due to the placement of the tumor.

"Seeing your son hooked up to all of those machines - and he had to go for a shunt two or three times, and that was heartbreaking every time - even in that short amount of time, I couldn't imagine him having to go through chemo," he said, according to the publication.

In addition to Zen and Halo, Cannon shares sons Rise Messiah and Golden Sagon and daughter Powerful Queen with model Brittany Bell.

He is also dad to twins Zion and Zillion and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa, twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey, a son called Legendary Love with model Bre Tiesi, and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with model LaNisha Cole.
