Nick Cannon appears to have opened up about wanting his ex-wife Mariah Carey back in a new song released on Valentine’s Day.
The presenter and music artist released the song 'Alone' on Monday, February 14, which samples Carey's 1990 song 'Alone In Love' from her self-titled debut album.
He posted a clip of the song on his Instagram page and captioned it: "This is for anybody else who is #ALONE on Valentine's Day… I had to come raw from the heart on this one."

In the song, Cannon - who was married to Carey from 2008 until 2016 - sings the lyrics: "I say I’m cool when I know I miss it / I’d trade it all for the case / If I could have you back / If I could go back to where we started at.”
He continues: "As much as I want you back/It's probably better where you at."
Though fans have praised his emotional vulnerability on the release, some have pointed out that it seems like the talk show host is referring to Carey throughout.
"Sounds like Nick was singing about his to a certain diva superstar," wrote one fan.
Another pointed out that this song might offend the other women in his life: "How do you think the other baby mothers feel [about] you still referring to @mariahcarey?"
Last month, the comedian confirmed the news he's expecting a baby boy with model Bre Tiesi earlier this week, just over a month after the tragic loss of his newborn son.
The child will be Tiesi's first and Cannon's eighth.
The announcement came less than two months after he and ex-girlfriend Alyssa Scott lost their son Zen, who died in December from brain cancer.
Cannon apologized live on air after saying he "failed" to "protect and respect the privacy of the mothers of all my children" when he shared the news.
"I misspoke and probably went too much into detail on Monday expressing my feelings and it probably felt like I was making some comparatives when talking about the passing of my son Zen and then also talking about the new child I'm expecting," he explained.
"I didn't need to do that because those are two completely separate moments in my life and they both deserve the respect," Cannon added.
Cannon vowed to "do better with delicate and sensitive discussions" and promised the mothers of his children to be more understanding and compassionate.
In addition to his late son Zen, the actor is already dad to 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey; 4-year-old Golden Sagon and 1-year-old Powerful Queen, whom he shares with Brittany Bell; and 7-month-old twins, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, whom he shares with Abby De La Rosa.
