Nick Cannon has revealed that his therapist told him to consider celibacy after welcoming his fourth child in just one year.

The comedian, 40, became a father of seven back in July after his girlfriend Alyssa Scott gave birth to their son Zen.

And while this is Scott's first child, it certainly isn't Cannon's first rodeo.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cannon said he doesn't want to limit how many children he has in the future.

"I come from a big family, I have several siblings, being raised in an unorthodox family by my grandparents at times, I've experienced such a wide range of upbringing that I have such a love and passion for kids and family. I want a big family too," he said.

But while having a big family was always something Cannon wanted, his therapist suggested taking a break from having kids.

Admitting that he refuses to become celibate, Cannon did reveal he's open to taking a break.

"I come from a big family, I have several siblings, being raised in an unorthodox family by my grandparents at times, I've experienced such a wide range of upbringing that I have such a love and passion for kids and family. I want a big family too," he said.

"The Lord has blessed me with what I asked, but ask and you shall receive." He continued, "But I'm not sitting out here planning it. My therapist says I should be celibate."

"Ok, give me a break bus. I'ma take a break from having kids," Cannon added.

When the busy host isn't juggling multiple gigs, he's spending time with his children, which he says keeps him "out of trouble."

"They get my full attention when I'm not working," Cannon said of his kids. "And that's the beauty of it because it kind of keeps me out of trouble. It's either work or playing with my kids."

The comedian isn't putting a cap on how many children he may have in the future.

"Think about it, you can't be like, 'No I'm done.' Like what if God says, 'No you not,'" Cannon said of having more children in the future.

Just weeks before welcoming son Zen with girlfriend Scott, Cannon welcomed twin boys, Zion and Zillion, with DJ Abby De La Rosa.

Cannon shares a son, Golden, four, and daughter, Powerful Queen, 9 months, with model Brittany Bell.

He also shares twins, Monroe and Moroccan Scott, 10, with ex-wife Mariah Carey, whom he was married to from 2008 until 2016.
