Nicola Peltz has finally addressed the question on everyone's lips the past few weeks: is she, or isn't she, feuding with Victoria Beckham?
Rumors of an alleged tiff with the Spice Girls alumna began after Peltz recently walked down the aisle with the Beckham clan's eldest son, Brooklyn. Prior to that, the 27-year-old and her fashion-designer mom-in-law were often seen engaging with each other online. When that stopped, gossip began swirling.
These tinseltown whispers reached their peak when Peltz shared a cryptic message about "people who make you feel bad" to her 2.7 million Instagram followers. But, despite the negative buzz, the newlyweds have shied away from discussing the subject. Until now.
Speaking to Variety, the couple, who married in April, brushed off the claims that there is any animosity between the two women.
Peltz even went a step further to speculate where the nasty gossip could have stemmed from. The Transformers: Age of Extinction actress has a theory that the rumors started after she wore a Valentino wedding dress, instead of one designed by Victoria Beckham.
Posh Spice, 48, has had her own clothing line since 2008. The brand has collaborated with big brands such as Reebok and Target.
"I was going to, and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress," Peltz told Variety. "She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that."
Brooklyn, Peltz's husband, also shared his opinion on the issue. Having grown up in the spotlight with two famous parents, the 23-year-old has had to deal with how fast rumors can spread.
"I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good," the budding chef explained.
Beckham finished off with a message to those spreading the rumors: "I always wish them well, the haters [...] I’m just doing what I love doing, staying healthy, being happy, and that’s what it is."
The happy couple, who began their romance in October 2019, have continuously declared their love for each other across social media.
In July 2020, the pair announced their engagement, with Peltz writing that her then-husband-to-be made her "the luckiest girl in the world."
Peltz and Beckham wed on April 9, 2022, in Palm Beach, Florida, at the bride's family home.
