This year's Academy Awards may only be in its first few hours but the internet is already talking about some awkward moments.

Arguably one of the acting industry's most highly-anticipated evenings, the Oscars has returned for the 95th time - one year on from a slap that saw Will Smith banned from the ceremony for the next decade. Though, people are already calling model Ashley Graham's red-carpet interview with Hugh Grant incredibly awkward, after the actor appeared disinterested in her questions.

Graham asked Grant: "What are you most excited to see? Anyone to see win?" To which he replied: "No one in particular." The mom-of-three then asked what Grant, 62, was wearing and who had designed it, at which point he simply answered: "My tailor."

"What does it feel like to be in Glass Onion," Graham then asks, "such an amazing film? How fun is it to shoot something like that?" The Love Actually actor then says: "Well, I'm barely in it. I'm in for about three seconds."

Check out the awkward exchange below:

After the weird exchange between the pair, Graham promptly ends the interview, given that Grant was clearly not interested. As he quickly handed back the mic and walked off.

Netizens weren't able to contain themselves after seeing the footage, with one person writing: "Ashley Graham interviewing Hugh Grant is the most awkward piece of television in 2023 and I'm living for it."

"Hugh Grant's red carpet interview was so awkward. Lmao he did not want to be there," someone else added.

Another user pointed out that Graham wasn't a journalist, and may not have been comfortable knowing how to conduct an interview without index cards or prompts, tweeting: "The Hugh Grant awkward interview is what happens when you bring non-journalists who don't know what to do beyond reading index cards. I thought it was genius."

"That Hugh Grant interview was… the most awkward thing I've seen since the slap," a further person chimed in.

Grant is expected to present an award at some point in the evening, with Jimmy Kimmel acting as the evening's host.
