Pete Davidson has candidly shared that he was high on ketamine during Aretha Franklin's funeral service.

The 30-year-old comedian released a new Netflix special titled Turbo Fonzerelli, in which he opened up about his childhood crush on Leonardo DiCaprio, his mother, and his relationship with drugs.

At one point in the one-hour show, Davidson shared that he was under the influence of ketamine - a dissociative drug that causes people to feel separated or detached from their body or physical environment, per the Alcohol and Drug Foundation.

The Saturday Night Live alum revealed that he had been using the drug for "the past two-and-a-half, three years" when he attended the soul singer’s funeral in August 2018 with his then-fiancée Ariana Grande, who paid tribute with a rendition of '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman'.

Watch Davidson talk about Aretha Franklin's funeral below:

The stand-up comic told the audience that he felt "embarrassed" by the incident, stating: "It’s embarrassing when you’re not on ketamine anymore, though… I’m embarrassed."

"I was out and about like that. That’s not cool, you know? I was at funerals like that. That’s f**** up, right?" he continued. "I was at Aretha Franklin’s funeral like that. Yeah, I have to live with that. You know what I mean? She’ll never know, but still, that’s not the point. You know what I mean?”

He then quipped that if the 'Respect' songstress were at her own funeral, she would say: "Hey, who are you? And what the f*** are you doing at my funeral?"

"It’s embarrassing. I’m so high, I thought it would be a good idea to go up to her family and go, 'Hey, I’m just here to pay my R-E-S-P-E-C-T…S,'" Davidson concluded, earning laughter from the crowd.

The comedian has been very vocal about his relationship with drugs over the years.

Back in 2016, Davidson revealed during an interview with Howard Stern that he attended rehab in 2016 because "there was no way I could stop" using drugs.

"I was like, somebody has to put me in a house where there is literally nothing," he told the host in 2018, as cited by The Independent. "I had too much access."

During his special, Davidson explained what motivated him to stop using drugs, disclosing: "I had to stop doing hard drugs because [you] can’t be a drug addict in your 30s. Doing drugs in your 20s is fine. It’s like an excuse. You’re like: 'I’m finding myself.' It’s cute, you know?" as reported by PEOPLE.
