On Friday, it was announced that beloved actor and Harry Potter star Robbie Coltrane had passed away at the age of 72.

Coltrane was best known for playing Rubeus Hagrid in all eight installments of the magical movie franchise, as well as for his villainous turn in Bond flicks GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough.

Since the heartbreaking news of the Scottish actor's death, tributes have poured in from friends and co-stars. Many - including Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe - paid tribute to Coltrane's kind nature.

"He was an incredible actor and a lovely man," Radcliffe said in a statement to Variety, adding: "I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he’s passed."

However, it seems not everyone saw Coltrane's friendly side.

Former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan honored the beloved actor's passing by recalling a time that Coltrane allegedly threatened to fight him.

"I could pay fulsome tribute to Robbie Coltrane, who was a superb actor, but he would hate it because he hated me," Morgan tweeted.

"Instead, here is my full diary entry for our one comically unpleasant encounter, which I’m sure is how he’d prefer me to remember him. RIP," the controversial talk show host added, alongside a link to the diary entry published in the Daily Mail.

According to Morgan's recollections, the incident occurred when he was seated next to Coltrane's table at The Ivy restaurant in London.

Morgan insisted that he didn't know what exactly he had done to offend Coltrane, saying he'd "never met Mr. Coltrane before" or had any run-ins with him while working on newspapers.

Despite this, the Bond star made it perfectly clear about Morgan, who recalled how: "Mr. Coltrane – sitting just two feet away – greeted my arrival with the words, 'Oh, F***ing HELL! NOT THAT F***ing w****r!’

Confused, Morgan claims that he continued with his meal until the opportunity arose for him to introduce himself to Coltrane. However, it wasn't long until their conversation disintegrated into a shouting match, with Coltrane again calling Morgan a "f***ing w****r" and warning him: "Don't you f***ing come near me… if you know what's good for you."

According to Morgan, things got so heated that they almost came to blows, with Coltrane furiously shouting at him: "I’ll f****** do yer."

Meanwhile, Coltrane is far from being the first person to take a swing at the controversial columnist.

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson famously did hit Morgan in the face after he allegedly said something unkind about his wife.
