There has been no shortage of shocking headlines in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's high-profile legal battle.

But yesterday (May 31) saw something totally unexpected pass by the courthouse in Fairfax, Virginia, where the trial has been taking place.

A Pirates of the Caribbean style 'ship' sailed past the courthouse, inside of which jurors were deliberating on whether to rule in favor of Depp or Heard.

Despite what it initially looked like, the vessel turned out not to be a real boat - but rather a flatbed truck kitted out to look like a pirate ship design. As well as decking, ropes, and waves, the cruiser even had a pirate at the helm as it 'sailed' past the courthouse.

Naturally, there was also a poster for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise - in which Depp starred as the beloved swashbuckler Captain Jack Sparrow - pasted to the side of the vehicle.

It is currently unknown who exactly is behind the impressive spectacle - though the ship is likely the brainchild of one of Depp's devoted fans, who have flocked to the courthouse throughout his trial to cheer the actor on.

Meanwhile, there is still no word from the jury as to whether they will be ruling in Depp Or Heard's favor. Depp is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she claimed to be a survivor of domestic abuse. The piece was published under the title "I Spoke Up Against Sexual Violence — And Faced Our Culture’s Wrath. That Has To Change'.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star maintains that he was the real victim of their turbulent marriage and that Heard's allegations wrecked his reputation and his career.

Heard, meanwhile, has doubled down on her accusations and countersued for $100 million. As well as citing multiple occasions when she claims Depp was physically abusive, she has also argued that her ex-husband was behind a smear campaign that sought to discredit her in the wake of her Washington Post piece.

Today marks the second day of jurors deliberating in the multi-million dollar trial, and there is still no sign of them having reached a verdict.
