Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released the first portrait of their daughter Lilibet to mark her first birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the sweet photo on Monday (June 6) with social media users, two days after celebrating the milestone.

The Sussex family was in the United Kingdom to attend Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee and had time to host a simple picnic for their youngest daughter at Frogmore Cottage in their Windsor Home.

The pictures of Lilibet were captured and shared by photographer Misan Harriman, who also posted a photo of the 40-year-old Suits alum with his wife and kids.

"It was such a privilege to celebrate the 1st birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers! Joy and face painting all around," said Harriman on Instagram.

Vogue Magazine also shared the picture of Lilibet on Instagram, along with an article that revealed that close family and friends attended the "intimate and casual backyard picnic" and that guests are understood to have included Zara and Mike Tindall and their children.

The 37-year-old Prince and his wife attended a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday (June 3) - marking their first public engagement in the UK since moving to America in 2020 after stepping back from their senior royal duties.

Their daughter and their son, Archie, did not make an appearance.

The couple visited the Netherlands in April to commemorate the Invictus Games. They stopped by Windsor Castle to meet with the Queen for the first time since their move to the US.

"Both Meghan and I had tea with her. It was really nice to catch up with her," Harry said during an interview on the Today show in April, adding that his grandmother was in "great form" when they reunited.

He was asked if he and Markle will be attending the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, to which he replied: "There’s lots of things, security issues and everything else... So this is what I’m trying to do, trying to make it possible that I can get my kids to meet her."

The Invictus Games founder also mentioned that returning to the UK after moving to the US with his wife isn't in his plans at the moment, saying: "Home for me now is, for the time being, is in the States and it feels that way, as well."
